Hi I noticed a few South West Trains stations are in need of a spruce up regarding station signage with several peeling signs at Botley, Hedge End ... the platform signs at Eastleigh were very faded and the station retains NSE red seats- how rare is this now? Despite over 10 years of SWT management.

Anyway that is an aside. I really wanted to talk about Eastleigh depot and the Virgin and Intercity! liveried mk2.3? coaches lying around- does anyone have lists of the stock being kept at Eastleigh and what the future holds?

Finally South West Trains class 450 and 444 remain very pleasent travelling environments and I think the class 444 is the finest train operating on the third rail system.

If you think that is bad you should go to the stations on the Great Northen between Drayton Park and Moorgate, you would actually think you was in late 1980s London with virtually everything still in Network South East livery. That is with 10+ years under Prism/National Express ownership and at least 3+ years of First Group ownership.:roll::roll::roll::roll:

Okay well I've just sent email to First Capital Connect asking about that as I'm sure there's a good reason the stations have been ignored by all private operators (First usually quick to slap their logo everywhere)... will post any reply here
