Hi everyone

I ws lucky enough many years ago to be part of D200 on the S & C - even going to York to see it retire ?

You know guys when I was 16 it was like oh no it is D200 again ! how narrow minded we were - can anyone tell me does it still run ? a dream come true to tavel behind it again

D200 is currently in the main hall at the NRM, and has been for a while now, but i'm sure she still runs...

Nope its broken, been sidelined for a fair few years.

There was an interview with the NRM's diesel fitter in last October's Railways Illustrated. He says that "D200 has a defective bearing in the main generator, plus some bogie cracks that need addressing. It requires an engine lift and will be assessed once the repairs to the 20 are complete." When asked when D200 would run again he says "I think it will be started in 2011." Earlier in the article he says he'd hope to have the 20 (D8000) "finished in the next 12 months."
