Crewe MP calls for town centre shuttle bus
The MP has called for a shuttle bus around the town
Crewe should have a shuttle bus route serving the town centre, according to the area's MP.
Connor Naismith, the Labour member for Crewe and Nantwich, has called for a service to connect Crewe railway station, bus station, town centre and retail park as the town consults on a new local transport plan.
He said such a move would support economic growth, improve social inclusion and promote sustainable travel.
Cheshire East Council has been approached for comment.

Naismith said a service like this would "significantly improve connectivity" in the town and said he had spoken to local businesses about the idea.
He has proposed a route starting at Crewe Station, travelling down Nantwich Road to Crewe bus station, onwards to Crewe Market Hall, the Grand Junction Retail Park and down Macon Way before returning to the railway station.
The MP said this looped route would provide "convenient access" to employment hubs, retail destinations and public services.
He added the service could be complemented by a park-and-ride service to Leighton Hospital from the town centre's multi-storey car park.
"The Crewe town centre shuttle represents a practical, high-impact opportunity to deliver the local transport plan's vision by improving connections, supporting economic growth, enhancing social inclusion and promoting sustainable travel," he said.
Cheshire East Council's local transport plan consultation runs until 7 December.
