Coronavirus - potential affects on transport operators?

With the current pandemic having similar effects to that of both world wars, could we potentially being seeing the death of several big names in the transport industry? It's certainly something that could happen, especially those with a weaker footing. It does lead to the question, could nationalisation of or public transport, buses, trains, airlines be around a lot longer than any of us or the government expected?

You do understand that the government has provided temporary support to transport operators to enable them to continue once the problem is over.

Not really. It could be around for longer than six months but that doesn't mean it would become the norm.

Yes I am more than away that the government is providing support until the problem is over, but that's only to cover basic loss of incomes, Arriva & First are still struggling, this crisis took Flybe out, and by the sounds of it Virgin Atlantic could be following shortly. SWR was struggling, even once this is over who's to say they will recover if its currently under management contract.
