Coach numbers for BR Gresley Suburban coaching stock

Hi All

I'm just completing and detailing a set of three Ian Kirk 4mm scale LNER Gresley suburban coaches.

I want to paint and number them for early BR usage:

• two full thirds
• one brake third

I know that Railtec can do custom transfers

12 ready-made BR passenger vehicle/wagon numbers of your choice

Product code: 4mm-9965

BUT I need to know the correct numbers before I order - preferably for Eastern Region (ideally Great Eastern main line) usage.

Can anybody help me by suggesting appropriate numbers?

I think the Kirk and Hornby Gresley non-corridor (suburban) carriages are diagram 56 (third) and 64 (brake third, four compartment). These are 9'0" width (door handles protrude from body), rather than 9'3" width (recessed door handles).
Hornby's chosen running-numbers for their models, concur (for example, their Third included E 82190 E / E 82326 E).

The late Michael Harris's work on LNER carriages (chapter 14 Numbering Schemes) quotes all the running numbers, which is too onerous to convey here due to their various build years and of which works constructed. So I will just give a flavour.

These are relevant to postwar, so add an E prefix and E suffix.
