Are there any interesting bus events that may not be on the Classic Buses calendar, especially this Bank Holiday Weekend? I'm happy to travel to them by train anywhere UK.

Good idea. Is there such a thing as a Station to {Anywhere} journey planner? I would like to see how far I can get by train to somewhere new, arriving at a station with a Premier Inn around 22:00. Most journey planners seem to require you to know where you would like to go. AI seems to show direct journeys which do not exist by misreading timetable information

I believe, in terms of railways, the closest you are looking for is the Realtime Tickets Daytripper website, where you can set an origin and budget, and it will give you an itinerary just possible in a day. However, it is unfortunately only really useful for day journeys AFAIK, but it's probably worth a look up.
Strange not on the calendar usually difficult to find an event not on the list. King Alfred event is one of the biggest of the year.
An event which occurs every weekend is the Service 11 which tours around the Cotswolds starting from Moreton in Marsh station using vehicles from the 60/70s, several trips a day sat, sun and bank holidays.Fares payable on the bus starting from £3
