Class 390s

Just quickly, I'm looking at the seating formation for the 390s and seeing as I wouldn't mind sometime in the next few weeks travelling up to Glasgow, how can I be sure that I would be getting a window seat for these seats for sole travellers?

Ie the seats which don't share a table between the two seats like the East Coast sets?

If I can, I'm looking at seats 3, 6, 9 or 12 in Coach K but I would like to be assured of a window view and not just the pillar support a I would like to enjoy the view.

Presumably you are travelling First Class, as you have listed Coach K

My preference would be Coach K Seat 03, this has the best view
Seat 15 would be next choice

Northbound mid-week I avoid Coach K; it's just too noisy
At weekends though I prefer this coach

My preference is :
Coach G Seat 01
The reason being is that this is usually in the evening so avoids getting the sun and glare as the sun sets on the western side of the train

If you want a seat on the other side (which would be fine early morning) then consider :
Coach G Seat 02 * This is one of the few seats which will allow you to see the signals in advance
or
Coach J Seat 28

I'm thinking of getting the first one out of Euston but it stops pretty much everywhere so might as well get the second one, how busy is the 07:30 Euston to Glasgow?

Fairly busy M-F as far as Preston, quieter going north but it's still a busy train. No need to reserve though, and the solo seats are usually always unoccupied.

For the point - I avoid K like the plague other than busy peak services as the crew use it as their mess.

It has been known for passengers to peek into Coach K and decide against it!
Also, on quieter services the staff often advise people to walk down to Coach J or G as there are plenty of empty seats...
