Hi!

So basically I have a question. Im about 2012 I took the Eurostar. I know the leading power car was 373108. I don’t know what the rear one was but wish I did.

However in all the YouTube videos online it shows the unit with 373107.

Did 3108 ALWAYS run with 3107 then? Because if so that means it will have been me other winning unit.

Thanks!

In general each full Eurostar Three Capitals set is formed with consecutive half-set pairs, so 3001 with 3002, 3107 with 3108 etc.

Certainly the data I have for 2012 TGV formations gives set 3108 being coupled to 3107.

I don't think the half-sets pairs have ever changed, the two sets are semi-permanently coupled to each other anyway.

So to answer your question directly, 3108 should've been with set 3107; and if it matters they were both tri-voltage SNCB/NMBS sets :)

(Sadly both no more :frown:)

3107/3108 were paired up so it should have been 3107 with 3108. There's always the possibiltlity that the spare power car 3999 may have been on the 3107 end of the train, although I don't think there is any way of knowing for certain unless you saw the power car on the other end.

Back in 2012 that was the case, but in recent months there seem to have been quite a few hybrid formations, 3218 and 3223 are reported to be paired up, 3217 and 3224 are paired up, and 3015 and 3230 are paired up, and 3229 is in another hybrid formation, although I'm not certain which half set is paired with 3229 as power car 3999 is on the other half set!

Edit: now read that it's only power car 3230 that's paired with 3015; that set still has the trailers from 3016. Presumably this means that the power car from 3016 is out of action?

No entirely sure about 3016's power car; the latest data I have on TGV sets (including Eurostar, Thalys and Lyria) is from 2012.

From what I can gather 3015 and 3016's power cars are still in traffic but I can't say that's 100% correct.

Having looked for confirmation, not easy I must say, power car 373999 should be on half-set 3230.

I'm trying to clarify that with someone.
Im about 2012 I took the Eurostar.

Are you able to say which month? While unlikely for 2012 when seats were more stable, knowing even the month might help make sure there weren't any short term changes.

It wasn't/isn't unheard of for half-sets to be mixed and matched, though not often. There were tales of GNER briefly operating a blue NoL half-set with a white one, but I'm not sure if this is true.

The numbers are different but the two parts should always be coupled together. The French numbering system works like that. All multiple units have a double number like that, although the trains are undeformable. In France 3107/3108 is actually considered as one unit with the numbers written that way (just as 1601/1602 or 50001/50002 are considered as one unit respectively).
