Class 20/9 renumbering

There appears to be some conflicting information regarding some class 20 renumberings which took place in 1989.

According to several publications from the early 1990s (Motive Power Pocket Book by Platform 5 Publishing, Locomotive Lexicon by Metro Enterprises)
20041 became 20901 and
20101 became 20904

However in more recent editions of Motive Power Pocket Book
20041 is shown as being renumbered 20904 and
20101 becoming 20901

Does anybody know for definite which is correct ?
I'm sure many haulage bashers, spotters, class 20 fans etc across the country would be happy for this 'identity swap' to be solved.

The more recent editions are correct. It was discovered (I think due to cab window configuration or something similar) that all the mags/books had previously got it wrong.
