Did the 175s ever appear in North Western Trains blue and gold star livery? Or did they only come into service once First had changed the livery?

(Still one if the best privatisation liveries IMHO and one if the more ambitious initial TOCs too before they all had their wings clipped and we're told what to do rather than be inspirational!)

It's interesting to think what they'd look like in FNW livery and TPExpress Dynamic Lines, but unfortunately, I have neither the time nor the talent to create convincing* photoshops, so we'll never know.

*Unless by 'convincing' you mean just scrawling 'First North Western' on the side of the train, in which case, my expertise is absolute. :D

FNW were quite an oddball operator. As well as running 158s and 322s out of London Euston to Rochdale and Manchester Airport, the also operated 323s, which, as well as looking particularly good in the livery, provided copious amounts of clag sufficient to serve the whole of FNW's network. Of course they still do, but it would have been interesting if they were the trains operating from Euston.

My apologies to anyone who patronised this service and would have been subjected to this on a daily basis. Mind you, 322s aren't much better, and the service doesn't run anymore, so it's not that important.
