Chiltern cancelling then resuming a service

So this has happened twice tonight. Currently there is a signal failure at Chorleywood however I don't know if it is related.

Starting with 2B52 earlier, it got cancelled at Chalfont & Latimer, with RTT saying due to an issue with the safety systems. It then ran ECS to Great Missenden as 5B52 then resumed the service to Aylesbury as 9B52. The same thing has just happened with 2V61.

If the train had broken down, why continue it further on using the same units?

Something that prevents carrying passengers on LUL metal ? Most bizarre!

They were having issues this morning too but we're managing to restart the Marylebone-Aylesbury Vale Parkway services right time at Aylesbury to keep things on time London bound

I believe there was an issue with resetting the tripcock after being talked past the failed signal, hence not being able to run in passenger service on LUL metals.
