Metro Report International:
A door-to-door journey planning app tailored to the needs of children has been launched by Berlin-Brandenburg transport authority VBB and developer HaCon. VBB Jump is based on HaCon’s Kids App for Android, which was developed with input from children and parents, interviews at schools and extensive usability tests. It is designed to offer a simple and intuitive user interface that meet the needs and abilities of younger passengers
Why a simple and intuitive user interface cannot be offered to all passengers, younger or otherwise?

I find that the only children I know who want and need to use journey planners can and do use rome2rio, Trainline and the like with ease.

German schoolchildren are much more likely to be travelling without an adult than British ones - culture, cheap local fares and school hours all encourage this.
