Charter Train Seen at Staines Monday 06 may.

I Was waiting for a bus at the bus station in Staines this afternoon. Just after 3PM a charter train came through from the Reading/Chertsey direction and was stopped outside Staines station for a short time, hauled by a West Coast Diesel, I think it's number was 47 125 and pulling a long line or Maroon, MK1 s or MK2s. I was just curious about where it was coming from and going too? Any Ideas?

Loco was probably 47245, it was seen lurking at Bristol on Saturday.

Well, definitely wasn't 47125, that was scrapped in May 2002.
47245 was, as you say, at Bristol yesterday, so that would be the loco the OP saw. The only other WCRC locos around that area yesterday were those at Southall.

Ah, that must have been the loco I saw, it was quite a long from where I was standing and my eyesight is not that good.
