Changing advance tickets

I have a set of advance tickets from London to Bradford and return for the late May Bank Holiday weekend which I ordered from Uber and haven't collected yet. I understand that these are not refundable but are changeable in advance for a fee.

If, and it's a big if, Bradford City are playing at Wembley that weekend I'll be looking to change our plans.

When I open the Uber app and select "modify" it suggests I cannot modify the tickets. Unsurprisingly, the "cancel" option is also unavailable. If it turns out that I do, in fact, need to change the dates on these tickets, how do I achieve that in practice given the absence of the option in the Uber app?

Looks like you have to buy new tickets & then email Uber customer services to cancel the original ones.

Well as we all know I can now keep my advance tickets to Bradford with no need to change them

While in the north I need to make a return trip to Harrogate, out on Saturday back on Sunday. The fare for this for two of us appears to be approaching £50 for a journey that takes around an hour and ten minutes with a change in Leeds.

There are some splits available for advances which reduce but not by much.

From what I can tell the best value option is a bus for £3 each, each way from Bradford to Arrigut via the airport, which takes a mere 20 minutes longer than the train. Before I consign myself to that I was hoping I could consult the collective wisdom of the forum to see if there's an alternative I'm missing?

All else being equal I'd prefer the train but compared to £12 for a marginal journey time increase the fare seems extortionate!

Maybe I just need to temper my expectations as regards what travel costs these days!

Trainsplit will do it for ~£30, but the bus is better value.
