I see that a Cardiff Bus got stuck under a main line railway bridge. I would have thought that this was a regular route for these double deckers as the bus depot is not far south of the railway bridge. Wonder why one got stuck yesterday? Has the heat expanded the metal on the railway bridge?

"Pictures from the scene showed the Cardiff Bus vehicle unable to move, with the incident also appearing to have caused some damage to it. South Wales Police diverted traffic at the scene and the road was partially blocked in the direction heading towards Leckwith before later re-opening on Monday night - June 12".

If you read the article it says that the bus was being towed by a recovery truck. To do that it would have been raised up at the front, that's why it hit the bridge.

Interesting as most double decker buses were 14’ 6” or less, at least in times past (the ones I drove in the 1990s were lower - just below 14’). The article suggests, but does not confirm that it was being towed, perhaps with front wheels lifted off the road?

That bridge is very tight with a decker but it will fit as long as you take your time .

What's worse is this decker was on display down Barry Island at the transport festival on Sunday too
