Canley level crossing sign

Saw this sign on the way to canley rail station a while ago. There is no level crossing there so i just searched it up and apparently it closed in the early 2000s - why is this sign still there? It looked really worn so i assumed it would be old but google maps history shows it only got worn or replaced in the last 5 years (and has been up since 08).

Simply because nobody has bothered to remove it, or have forgotten that it's there.

There are several "new road layout ahead" or "new traffic light ahead" signs around my area that have been up for at least 10 years.
