Glencoe is also a Downhill Mountain Bike centre, the access chair has hooks for hanging bikes on.

As far as trees in a ski area go? Especially in North America it's pretty common to have the lifts and runs cutting through dense forest. It's really rather pleasant

I prefer riding uphill, without assistance, and as for €bikes to ride downhill :s

There was a report a while ago from the Alps, some people hired €bikes, tootled off happily up the hill, had lunch in a cafe
They were too scared to cycle back down (must have been very steep?) so they walked down
The mountain rescue people recovered the cycles later, for a fee of many hundred €uros
