As BSIP recipients go Luton is generally rather reticent in publishing details, but the 2025/26 delivery plan (part of phase 2) is now up and includes two major capital schemes.
1) Butterfield P&R - its delivery was delayed by flooding in November/December 2024, with construction now expected to commence later this year. [£970k for the year]
2) Crawley Green Road / Vauxhall Way junction - to be converted from a roundabout to a signalised junction with bus priority. Design work and a consultation to follow, possibly followed by initial construction [£1.3m for the year]. Likely timespan 24 months or so.
On the revenue side of things it's noted that operators will only be reimbursed for a fixed number of HipHop ticket sales (per year, presumably); they take the finanicial hit for sales beyond the agreed limit.
£10 million of funding in all, including £3.8 million of phase 1 underspend.
