I would nominate West Coast Motors' 423 from Ardrishaig to Oban via Kilmartin. We used it as a paddlesteamer replacement service back in May when the Waverley trip from Glasgow to Oban was cancelled. A spectacular route.

Yes, great bit of road South of Oban. Shame the service is so infrequent.

I've been having a look back through this thread. Any of the buses that run to Malham are well worth a shout, although on weekdays are served by just 2 return journeys operated by minibuses that during the summer can be full as a warning. On Summer Sundays & Bank Holidays, there's around 8 buses a day between Skipton & Malham (864/866) with the first & last journeys extending to/from Bradford (864) & Keighley (866). The end in Malham with the views of Malham Cove in the distance is the grand finale of the route.

I'd go even further and recommend the Summer Saturdays 75 which extends beyond Malham to Malham Tarn and then over the hills to Langcliffe before ending in Settle. Well worth a ride!

The Summer weekends Moorsbus M8 provides a great trip through the Howardian Hills. The views of Castle Howard and then Yorkshire Lavender in Terrington are quite underrated in my opinion. The bus starts/ends in Helmsley and connects with the X81 to/from York in Castle Howard on Sundays.

@RELL6L The Clitheroe - Settle bus goes on to horton in Ribblesdale. But there are some extended breaks in Settle

581 Settle - Kirkby Lonsdale. Actually the 580/581/81 all the way from Skipton to Lancaster isnt bad.
Keighley Bus 57 from Bradford to Kly over the tops.
75 skipton - Malham-Settle summer saturdays only. Bus stop at Malham Tarn!
Its complicated but you can go all round the Isle of Arran by bus. Google Stagecoach-Arran for a pdf Arran bus timetable.
Oldham - Huddersfield.
Keighley-Skipton-ilkley-Keighley is quite nice. 62, 64, 66
Buses alone Morecambe Promenade between Morecambe and Bare give nice views across Morecambe Bay. 100's are frequent but there are other routes including an infrequent 755 to Bowness on Windermere.
Burnley bus M4. between Laneshaw Bridge and Crosshills. If you stay on you get a scenic tour round Airedale Hospital but i dont think that is what this thread is about!!!

While in the area the Clitheroe Nelson is well worth doing, through Barley and past the base of pendle Hill. 66/67

66/67 are now worth doing now Vision operate the route with MMC200s, previously when Prestonbus had the contract it was quite an experience as they used Strata's on them regularly which was quite good if you liked journey's with a bit of bounce in them as the Strata's used to bounce around everywhere on the route.
