Brighouse Station Upgrade

According to Sarah Bells latest video on TRU works, this proposed/planned temporary platform at Hillhouse has been scrapped in favour of upgrading Brighouse.

Wider platforms are mentioned, also better access to car parking but apart from that can anyone hazard a guess what else is involved ?

Both waiting shelters were upgraded not so long ago.

What is really lacking is access for road transport. Car park is full whenever I have been and streets around it do not have capacity for the pickups from existing feeds. No idea where they are going to the feeder buses.

Not so long ago the site right next to the car park was for sale although sadly WYCA never included Brighouse within their car parking programme unless Im mistaken

IIRC in the past when Rail Replacement Buses have served the station they've done so by looping around the triangle of streets around the station formed by (going clockwise) Railway Street (adjacent to the Manchester-bound platform), Gooder Lane, and Huddersfield Road (A641, the bridge which straddles the station platforms). Whether that's adequate for the upcoming operations, I'm not overly convinced.
Back when the A641 bridge was rebuilt as part of the reopening works in the late 90s, service buses (and all other traffic) were diverted via Railway Street and Gooder Lane.

Well that would be nice especially if like at Shipley & Horsforth with big windows.

Although I doubt it!
