If its signalling it will be related to Cambridge PSB signalbox area renewal. Some work was to take place at Croxton concerning a Level Crossing if I recall reading the previous published literature correctly.

Thanks, I was aware of this, but I thought it was happening alongside the rest of the Cambridge re-signalling project, which as far as I can tell, hasn't started yet? I guess it's not really related, so they can do it whenever? From passing Croxton AHB a few times since the works, I haven't noticed anything obviously different. Although to be fair I haven't been paying attention to the signals themselves.

Work on the Cambridge area re-resignalling project has been happening for a while e.g. new lineside cable troughing on the line towards Newmarket.

After reading the comment at Cambridge Area Signalling Renewal #75, I was under the impression that the Ely-Norwich portion was delayed. Although this work does seem like it could be related now, so I'm happy to close out this thread so that we're not duplicating content between the two threads.
