We sell tickets from BZ6!

You have to go to advanced options.

Note you do sometimes end up with a ticket from a named station, but if BZ6 is cheaper, or the only valid option, then that is what you would get.

It relies on custom data, so may not work 100% reliably, but is the best* that can be done with the constraints of the data at present

(*however if anyone has any feedback you can contact us and we will work with the relevant suppliers to see if we can make it any better!)
My partner is buying them on her smartphone as an e-ticket. Does the forum's one have an app that can be downloaded onto a smartphone? (I don't have a smartphone, so know nothing about this!)

t'll be from Coulsdon South, as we understand that online retailers don't sell tickets from Boundary Zone 6
There are several online retailers that sell tickets from Boundary Zone 6. These include TrainSplit/the forum's ticket site, as well as Avanti and c2c's websites. There may be others too.

You should be able to get the ticket as an eTicket, although that depends on whether the train company that controls the "flow" has enabled eTicket fulfilment. GTR have quite a few flows where they seem to have forgotten to do so.

I disagree. The conditions of the 60+ Oyster card, which have been previously linked, expressly state no validity on Gatwick Express services. It makes no difference whether or not Gatwick Express is a TOC.
But the Gatwick Express website itself suggests you can just buy a ticket from Coulsdon South and certainly doesn't indicate at all that GTR doesn't accept 60+ Oyster.

It would be trivial to note that if it were the case, but they don't

Does it explicitly mention the 60+ Oyster?

We've just had a ticket check, and both the 60+ Oyster card and Freedom Pass were accepted without question. The conductor had made an announcement before commencing the ticket check, requesting all passes, railcards and Oysters.

Thanks for confirming. Common sense prevails (though I'm almost disappointed; I was preparing to get a really good solicitor on standby! Some TOCs recently have been forced to pay thousands of pounds for mistreating customers, e.g. WMT the other day !)

I think GTR are very rattled by the class action claim against them; on board staff don't seem to be charging people excess fares, even for using Thameslink Only fares on GX.

Can you explain the process to do this? I’ve added London to Brighton, disabled freedom pass and filtered for Gatwick Express and no tickets can be found for a trip on a Sunday (next week say).

There's lots of engineering work this month - for example, no Gatwick Express service on Sunday 13th April.

I’ve been in a Gatwick Express and heard announcement about only certain tickets allowed, mention of paying extra fare and then seen people charged extra.

Today though, no northbound trains calling at Battersea Park, so travel to Victoria and back is required and as per the Southern website. Ticket office staff insist on selling ticket to London Victoria

And no problems on the return either :)
