Hypothetical situation that I almost found myself in.

Travelling with an Off-Peak Return between Hemel Hempstead and London Euston, is it permitted to rejoin the 1854 at Watford (a peak train out of Euston) with this ticket on the return leg?

There is zilch publicity at either station regarding travelling from anywhere other than Euston during peak.
