Its better than Cameron manages, remember his big "I'm cycling to work" PR stunt, where he braved the London streets on his peddle bike, followed 5 minutes later by his brief case and jacket in the 4x4!

I dont doubt that MPs use trains, but I never expected to see one on a branch line where they need to change at the mainline and wait for a connection there!
Especially as per the photo yesterday when the GWML was in disaster due to signalling probs at Didcot

My local MP is what I'd call an Old Tory, only shows up anywhere during elections and was last involved in the news in the early 90s over some love child scandall:

I guess the moral of the tale is despite all the rhetoric, most Politicians don't actually stand for anything much these days, and this is why the public are cynical. And quite honestly I don't blame them, we should vote the lot out and get some new blood in.

Maybe he uses it for personal travel as opposed to parliamentary things he claims for!
To be fair, air travel to some places is still necessary. Flying to PIK, for example, if your constituancy is in Ayr, would probably make sense if you need to be there quickly os some occassions.

No, but somehow the news got leaked to the local Tories who issued a press release saying how hypocritical it was when it was his Councillors who withdrew the original subsidy, tried to block its reinstatement and then proposed converting half the line into a misguided busway. Hmm... wonder who that could have been 8)
