Hi

I've Just got back from Bingley Railway Station While Meeting My Sister From Bingley Music Live and one thing which got me was the train announcements as they were really Quiet when i was standing on the Platform and some I couldn't even hear and When i was on the walkway between platforms it was still really quiet.

I Was just wondering if anybody knows why this is as the station is right next to a Motorway i would of thought the announcements would of been loud so they could be heard but i could hear them tonight and it seemed no matter where you was on the platforms they were really quiet and this caused a close call for my self as when i was walking down platform 2 behind the Yellow Line a Class 47 Came Though Fats on a Light Engine move and really Scared Me.

Not sure as to why not but at Walsden the other week, we found the annoucements were quiet there. We were on platform 2 and missed a few things as we were in the shelter (West Yorkshire challenge day and we were awaiting a delayed train) - the only place we could hear them was under the loudspeaker and at that, at one point a 158 went non stop the other way and that drowned out the bit of the annoucement we wanted to hear!

Are you sure you were at Bingley? Crossflatts is next to the Bypass (not Motorway as the road is a D2 with two lanes and no hard shoulder) whilst Bingley has a car park and reasonably thick walls for most of the station protecting it?

Cannot think why the announcements are quiet unless someone has been fiddling with the system. I do not believe that the system volume is controlled locally by the staff on the station.
