Anyone got any particular recommendations from East Anglia? I'm doing the Peddars' Way/Norfolk Coast Path soon and inevitably that'll involve plenty of beer stops; I guess Adnams and Woodforde's will crop up at some point but I was wondering what else to expect...

(And no one say Greene King; I can just about tolerate Old Golden Hen from them; anything else = <()
I'll concur with you on the GK range...

Brancaster Brewery is on the walk. http://www.brancasterbrewery.co.uk/

Wolf Brewery also produces some decent ale. http://www.wolfbrewery.com/

Agree 100%. I'm now trying to remember where that decent fish and chip shop is in Sheringham (I used to take my holidays in Norfolk, but am now sadly off the beer for good :( ).
Are you thinking of Dave's in Co-operative Street?

I need to try and bring some Gose back from Germany ;) It's only permitted in Saxony as it doesn't comply with the Purity Law.

Tring's pretty good, though you can generally only get it near Tring and I suspect that all their beers are the same, just different names.

Another vote for Landlord, my all time favourite, Timothy Taylor's Ram Tam and Porter are basically Landlord with some aded ingredients.

Since tetley's brewing moved to Wolverhampton, the beer tastes odd and I'd avoid it.

As for GK, I still like Abbott and Old Speckled Hen, but IPA is best avoided.

Dunno if anyone else has mentioned these, but Fullers is very reliable although I tend to favour ESB to London Pride and some of the beers brewed by Charles Wells are good (though not all), i.e. Courage Director's if it's kept well, Bombardier

My sister says ignore any and all ales from the area and instead concentrate on Aspalls cider.

If it's cider from Norfolk you like, Whin Hill cider farm shop in Wells Next the Sea have some lovely creations. Quite reasonably priced too!

Personally don't like Bombardier at all. It tastes like soil to me.

Agree Fullers are good. In addition to the two you mention, Chiswick Bitter is surprisingly tasty despite not being very strong and Bengal Lancer is a very good IPA too.

Had some happy days in Ohne bedencken and the Bayerischer Bahnhof last year, along with Zills tunnel restaurant all in Leipzig.
Never thought salty beer could taste nice lol, but i'm sure it raised my blood pressure about 10 points though.
On an enthusiast note Leipzig Hbf is worth a visit just to marvel at the station and old stock on display, nevermind the old trams and the Bristol Lodekka running tours outside.

Still, back on topic if we are doing local beers I quite like Allendale stuff, as well as Jarrow, Tyne bank, three kings and Hadrian and border from the north east. Maxim brewery are pretty good too :)

Thanks for the recommendations! Unfortunately I couldn't find anything from Brancaster in any of the stops I actually made - even the Ship Hotel in Brancaster itself didn't have any (but they did have a full row of ales from a brewery called Jo C's).

Apart from half the Adnams and Woodforde's range, both of which were excellent, I managed to try:
Ole Slewfoot Bitter
Beeston Worth the Wait
Humpty Dumpty's Norfolk Nectar
Jo C's Knot Just Another IPA
Stewkey Brew
Winter's King's Head Bitter (in Norwich on the way back).

I'm finding it hard to pick a favourite, though...
