Barcelona to Valencia return

Hi

I am currently in Barcelona and am looking to get a day return to Valencia on Thursday. On the app "Renfe ticket" it seems to require you to fill in a lot of details in Spanish. On the main Renfe website it seems to offer a single but no return on the same day. Obviously I can queue at the Sants station but anyone who's done this will realise it's not a good experience.

Any bright ideas or am i doing something wrong?

On the RENFE site I can see Promo tickets for €27 each way, out on the 0800, return on the 1854. Other trains are more expensive.
