Apologies if this topic has been covered before ...

What is the current protocol for drivers, regarding "right-side" and "wrong-side" failures of AWS and TPWS?

Specifically, when are they expected to immediately stop and report the fault, continue to the next signal and stop, or just report it and continue as normal?

Obviously if AWS or TPWS fails "right-side" and automatically applies the brakes, then the train stops!

I was thinking about the Clapham Junction crash in 1988, where I think the first train encountered a signal fault and stopped at the next signal. I wondered whether the presence of in-cab radios, meant that this "stop at the next signal" is not necessarily still valid.

(fyi - I'm just after a general understanding, not any reference to the recent Bedford accident.)
