Hi there. I was wondering when everything turns to GBR will previous Avanti staff be trained on 397s and 802s and tpe staff trained of 390s, 805s and 807s? Presumably the west coast intercity operations between Lancashire and Scotland will be merged into one? In addition what would be the likelihood of having staff based at Carlisle again?

Nobody knows anything for certain right now. But it's unlikely that any merging/reorganising of depots/TOCs etc will happen any time soon and it will almost certainly require lengthy Union negotiations re pay and T&Cs

I feel it’s fair to say that nobody knows the answers yet. Plans will become clearer as things progress but will likely be the influence of the government of the day.
