Avanti - Trainee Train Drivers - Recruitment Discussion

Anybody still awaiting a date for a DMI. Been told it will be mid Sep but yet to hear anything or confirmation.

I received the same email but haven’t heard anything since.

Also, the person who did my CBI mentioned that Avanti West Coast is apparently building an academy/training site in Euston, and fingers crossed that’s where the next batch of Euston Depot Train Drivers will be based. He did say not to take his word for it yet, as things can always change.

Has anyone else heard anything about this?

Well hoping to hear soon. I know things take ages on the railway but would be good to have the DMI this month. Fingers crossed it happens. Glad it wasn’t just me. Scared I missed an email lol

There has been mention of them having a potential training academy at Euston to go alongside Polmadie and Crewe, but until now I didn't quite know if they were going any further with it. But recently there were some driver mentor and trainer vacancies on Avanti's site, so anyone waiting for a DMI or talent bank call might not need to wait much longer if they get a new training site opened for the purpose of training more drivers at a time.

Has anyone had further word on courses starting next year?

Have been in the Talent pool since Nov and just curious if anyone has been waiting longer?

Been waiting 3 years now for Wolverhampton.
