Avanti Standard Premium Seating

Morning All,

I'm a regular ECML traveller and so from experience I know which seats align to the windows properly and therefore I know which seats I want to target when I'm booking. However, next week I'm off up the WCML for the first time in a while, and I don't have the same level of understanding about the Avanti seats and their window alignment.

I'm looking at upgrading to Standard Premium for a bit more space, and I'd like to sit at one of the tables for 2. Do all of the seats at these tables align to the windows please, or are some better than others? The service I'm looking at catching is scheduled to use an 11 coach Pendolino.

Any help would be greatly appreciated please!

Not sure if there are plans showing the window placement but the Avanti Pendolino Seating Plan shows which are single seats in Coach H. From memory one or two bays are not exactly aligned to windows but are ok. I quite like H24 (forward going southbound) which doesn't have a facing seat, just a small table.

All the paired tables of two in Coach H line up with the windows.

On a Pendolino, it's only H02 (solo on the table-of-4 side), H07 and H08 (at a table of 4) with a "poor view".

Avanti's PDF seat maps show this as shaded green:



All of the table-of-2 seats have window views, as does H24, a solo seat.

If you book through the forum's site, or TrainSplit, the seat selector can highlight this, but you might not want to book a Standard Premium advance, or you might have a connecting journey where these are not available.

On this occasion it’s only a simple return from Euston to Nuneaton, so I’ve booked a Standard Premium advance via the Forums ticket site.
