I was surprised to find a 10am start for alcohol in Leicester Square Wetherspoons recently.

I’m not sure if you were expecting it to be earlier or later, but by Wetherspoons standards, that quite late I think? Our local one is 8am and expect that there are many earlier than that.

The maximum off-sales hours (whether from a shop, pub or any other licensed premises) are 10:00 to 22:00.

(3) If the off-sales hours proposed in the application are such that alcohol would be sold for consumption off the premises—

(a) before 10am,
(b) after 10pm, or
(c) both,

on any day, the Board must refuse the application.

The Avanti cheeseburger absolutely slaps, it's always a treat to get one if I end up on a Pendolino (just as well I can keep it down on those vomit comets too!)

Never had one, I'm sure someone told me you have to be pretty sharpish to buy one though.
Will try one out sometime.
I used to enjoy the cheeseburger back in the BR west coast days.

I note that the shop menu on the website seems to have been updated. All the food items are back. Pain au chocolat in the bakery section seems new - I haven't seen any but they would certainly be welcome!

Had a cheeseburger on a 390 the other day actually. It was quite nice and perfectly filling for a lunch option with just a black coffee.

They're spot on. Definitely (in my opinion) the best thing on offer.
