ATW Premier Sevice Menu: Suitable for Vegetarians?

I have emailed about this and am awaiting a response. Can anyone on here advise or relate to their own experience of what was on the menu if there will be something I can eat in each course? It's just that the online example menu, which doesn't appear to change, doesn't contain a vegetarian option as a starter. I don't mind getting the First Class ticket but I'd like to get the Advance First as it's clearly more cost-effective for Cardiff to Chester, but what will I get? Thanks.

They certainly do a veggie breakfast, and I'm pretty sure when we glanced at the dinner menu there were veggie options for all courses. I think the dreaded goats cheese featured though, unless I'm getting mixed up with another menu we've looked at recently!

Edit: Hmm I see what you mean. Maybe you can have the pea and mint broth without the ham? Good point, and shame on ATW if they have overlooked this large sector of society.

it looks like salad and the dreaded pasta with ricotta filling offered everywhere. If you contacted ATW they might be able to arrange something better as you would be making a pre order so to speak.

i guess the issue with the (v) option is life and numbers. I am guessing they wont do that many.

Well, I'm a whining bloody veggie and can confirm that they do have a veggie option, and very nice it is too (tho' I havent partaken of it for some time)..last meal I had was a thai green curry, I think.

When I travelled on the Premier Service earlier this year, they offered Welsh Rarebit as a vegetarian starter.

I am not sure about Arriva Trains Wales but on Virgin the food for Vegetarians is normally good in first class. Being a Lacto-Vegetarian (Milk but not eggs) I have never noticed a problem for normal Vegetarians on the train when getting food on the trains.

I'm familiar with Virgin's First Class food, and it's very good in general. I hope the ATW service will be too!

Vegetarian Welsh Rarebit sounds an awful lot like Cheese on Toast to me, but we'll go with that

I am going to ask ATW to stock Wrexham Lager, anyhow I am not a fan of Premier Class but the menu has missed out the veggie option,which does exist for dinner. Enjoy the facilities while they last.

It looked an awful lot like cheese melted on a crumpet to me.

It was poor in comparison to the rest of the starters based on appearance alone.

Trying to persuade veggie OH to come with me on this before its demise. We've done (part of) the southbound several times but never northbound.

Just wondered, as we'd only be going Cardiff to Hereford, would we actually be served dinner in this shortish time? Even a couple of courses would do, just so we can say we did it.

I've had the works Shrewsbury-Chester before so you should be ok. I travelled on the southbound WAG on Friday and I noticed a veggie option on the brekky menu.

I am doing the North bound WAG Cardiff - Wrexham this Thursday and the South bound WAG on Monday both in first. I will try and remember to snap the menu and post it here for people to have a look at.
