Honestly a dumb question I know but I'm quite the overthinker, I purchased an anytime day return for travel to Leigh on sea from London and back which states any permitted route. Online it shows there are some specifically via Basildon and specifically via Tilsley, am I permitted on any of them?

There's quite a few permitted routes for this journey - in essence, any sensible route is allowed.

The most obvious routes are that you can travel out of Fenchurch Street to Barking, and then via Basildon (the direct route) or via Rainham/Ockendon and Tilbury (the longer, slower route).

Alternatively, you can also travel out of Liverpool Street and then either via Stratford to Barking (this route is often used by c2c services on weekends and during engineering works), or via Romford to Upminster and then as above.
