Out of my window this morning I caught a quick view of a movement on The Erewash Valley Line through Langley Mill towards Toton.

I am at a distance where you can make out what train it is but not close enough for pictures etc..... Anyway, it was defiantly an EWS liveried loco, which looked to be a 66, with a silver/white partner, My first reaction was that it was the EWS management Train DVT, but I only got the slightest look as it disappeared behind the trees. It must have been between 10 and 11, but not 100% sure.

Anyone got any ideas on this?

67029 worked the DBS Management Train from Toton to Crickelwood. Left there at 10am if it was on time.

This was heading south through Langley Mill towards Toton, just a EWS loco and the other unidentified partner, there was no other coaches, just those two. So if it ran in that formation in that direction then that could have been it.

Actually sounds like Tata 60099 being towed back to Toton.

Now that sounds a bit closer, the 60, EWS DVT and Wrexham & Shropshire were the only things I could think of and I'd pretty much ruled out W&S and wouldn't expect the EWS DVT to be out without the rest of the management train rake.

Thanks for the info.

It passed me on the fast lines heading towards Derby about an hour or so ago, just after we left a signal check at Loughborough.
