Chiltern service from Birmingham Moor Street to Banbury, calling only at Warwick Parkway for operational reasons. Runs as required, but scheduled to run M-F every week. If this was an ECS there would be no mystery, but it runs with a 1xxx Express Passenger headcode. Is this just a clerical error, or is this train something truly bizarre.

Adam :D

Is it some kind of staff train?

If so, it would run with a 5xxx headcode, but it doesn't it runs with a 1xxx headcode.

Perhaps it's run as 1xxx to allow an easier option to carry passengers from any cancelled services in the event of disruption.

I'm just wondering... why would there be a staff train running there and at that time? It doesn't seem quite right, but then I don't know the area and its workings all that well.
