I saw that too but I thought it was talking about the sidings

Actually it still says that in the sidings now
The "TIL 2000" was in the platform 3 (I think - if not it was another platform) berth at that time as well.

Perhaps it really was just an unconnected fluke but it didn't look like it.

Regardless, the number of other occasions something vaguely analogous has happened is considerable.

Just to reiterate, it is obvious why the station was closed, and similarly that it takes as long as it takes.

To be fair would you rather be the poor sod who needed a ambulance. Tbh it could be all manner of things but hopefully the person the ambulance service attended has got the treatment they required. Emergency services dealing with a incident makes it sound like a large scale response in my mind like a aforementioned one under incident.

The point is if a proper understandable reason is given then people can make a reasonable judgement about how long the delay might be but that seems to be way over the head of many people associated with the railway.
It was a proper reason, you just didn't like it. Simply saying a passenger taken ill doesn't confer much information. Stating that the emergency services are dealing with an ill person at least gives a bit more of a clue as to it's seriousness.

Apart from the fact you need to brush up on your reading skills as it and I didn’t say that, your reply is so typical of both the railway and this forum. Not, oh perhaps more and better information should be supplied to passengers but just attack anybody who points out information given at times of disruption is totally inadequate.

But the information was given at the time. An ambulance was dealing with a passenger.

Not sure that there’s much more to be said really.

That’ll probably do for this thread.
