Second day today, Sunday 30th May and my journeys for the today were 1A05, (Avanti West Coast) 09:55, Nuneaton to London Euston (11:34) with 390126. Due to engineering works this was diverted via Northampton using the centre road through the station (2 track railway for the bottom end of the WCML).
I walked the short distance to Kings Cross and next up was 1P30 (Thameslink) 12:13, London Kings Cross to Stevenage (12:38) with unit 700019. ,
Leaving Stevenage on (Great Northern) class 717, my first 717, 717024, as 2F35, 12:58 Stevenage to Moorgate as far as Highbury & Islington.
I had 39 minutes to go via Victoria Line to Oxford Circus and the Bakerloo line to Paddington. Excellent advice on a thread on the forum about the ease of changing at Highbury & Islington (cross Platform) was spot on. Engineering work and staff issues had cancelled the lines towards Paddington from Kings Cross. Platform to platform, Highbury & Islington (13:57) to Paddington (14:22) so 25 minutes.
Up next was 800304 (First Great Western), 14:36 (1B46) London Paddington to Swansea as far as Cardiff Central (16:34). A swift cross between platforms put me onto 150250 and 150281 operated by (Arriva Trains Wales) as 1W24 Milford Haven to Manchester Piccadilly at 16:40 as far as Newport (16:54).
I crossed platforms to board the late running, 2G56, (Arriva Trains Wales) Cardiff Central to Cheltenham Spa (which had followed the double 150 service) at Newport it departed at 16:57 13 minutes late and arrived at Cheltenham Spa 12 minutes late at 17:57 (1M85), unit 170202.
Same platform for the following train 16:45, (1M75) Cardiff Central to Nottingham formed of a double 2 car 170 outfit, 170116 paired up with 170112 running 6 minutes late departing Cheltenham Spa at 18:05 and planning to alight at Birmingham New Street at 18:45.
I had a 7-minute connection at Birmingham New Street, and after confirmation on this forum that 8A to 9A was across the island platform we arrived at New Street at 18:50, 5 minute late and I walked over for my final train of the day
Cross country unit 170108 was forming the 18:52 Birmingham New Street to Leicester and I took this to Nuneaton arriving at 19:22, 2 minutes early.
