Apologies if this is a stupid question, but I'm assuming that an all line rover wouldn't be transferable between people? I couldn't find anything anywhere that said either it was or wasn't. This is in contrast to lots of other rovers which clearly state that they're not transferable. So, it made me wonder...

Thanks.

6. You may not transfer a ticket to another person
A ticket may only be used by the person for whom it has been bought. It may not be
resold or passed on to anyone else unless this is specifically allowed by the terms and
conditions which apply to that ticket and which are set out in the notices and publications
of the relevant Train Company.

Taken from the National Rail Conditions of Carriage (to which terms your ticket (rover/ranger) is issued).

Any and all tickets are non-transferable (details in NRCOC)

Proving it would be extremely difficult though

However, it is known that companies quite often buy this ticket for employees, the ticket is then passed between them
Hence this may be why the exclusion does not appear in the promotional material

Not really considering that the holders name is supposed to be on the front of the ticket, 'Issued to Mr E X Ample'.
Whether the ticket issuer decides to leave it blank is at their discretion, but certainly STAR TIS systems require this field to be completed before the ticket can be issued.

That combined with Byelaw 23:

23. Name and address
(1) Any person reasonably suspected by an authorised person of breaching or attempting to breach any of these Byelaws shall give his name and address when asked by an authorised person.
(2) The authorised person asking for details under Byelaw 23(1) shall state the nature of the breach of any of these Byelaws in general terms at the time of the request.

= Successfully proved that ticket has been transferred illegally and MG11 probably completed.

I did an ALR back in March, so I just went to check my ticket to see if it had my name on it.

And the entire ticket has faded, nothing left on it, apart from the faint outline of my name at the top.

However, I was never asked to prove that I was the named person on the ticket, so I cant see how they would stop you from letting someone else use it.

It's 50/50 whether the name is put on the ticket as far as my experience goes.

If there is no name then it really would be difficult to prove it has been transferred even more so if it was paid for by cash! ;);)

I also remember once getting a Welsh Valleys Day Ranger (or whatever its called!), and in the place where my name should have been they put "W Wales". In truth, I am NOT actually heir to the throne....
