AA lounge update; the Flagship lounge at LAX T4 is..fine. On a par with Club / Galleries lounges at LHR but certainly no more than that, so the Special Laminated Invite feels like a comedic touch. There are other Oneworld options a ten minute walk around the corner in TB but this one is convenient.

Tbh I preferred Admirals Club in Phoenix. Smaller, calmer, more charm and there were a couple of great folks running a fresh taco bar which felt like a bit of a win.

Yes, the only thing the LAX Flagship lounge offers is convenience (for T4 departures) and the novelty of having champagne served on entry (which, of course, you have to tip for).

DFW does the same. I never partake, I don’t usually have small bills to hand when I’m entering a lounge.

Currently in the BA Lounge at FCO (Rome) - who cares if my flight is scheduled to be 50 mins late when the facility is post Passport Control and has a smoking lounge right next door, and bottles of Peroni gratis.

The AA 1st Class Lounge at LHR T3 does the same but you don't have to tip !!

Americans , most Airport Lounges there are Bartender Manned and they expect tips !!

I've never tipped for the champagne at the promotional stands on entry at LAX or ORD!

Always a dollar a drink for the free swill at the bar or with the "premium drink" tokens in normal AAdmirals Clubs though

Because American tipping culture is completely out of control. I agree with your argument but luggage porters, valets and shuttle bus drivers at hotels are exactly the same - "free" services but you're expected to tip.
