Advance tickets - query

I have a question: If I use Advance tickets, what do I actually need to take with me? Do I need the booking references etc. or do I only need to bring the ticket itself + seat reservation ticket?

The booking references are only used to collect the tickets if you are using the Ticket on Departure facility (rather than getting them posted to you).

To travel, you only need the tickets and seat reservations - neither are valid by themselves. Indeed, many machines will also print the booking references on the tickets any ways but these aren't needed to travel.
