Access to platforms at Ipswich

Hi there,

I am thinking of visiting Ipswich soon, and was just wondering if there is usually a problem gaining access to the platforms to take pictures/film as I have just read there are barriers at the station.

When you say "visiting", do you mean arriving by car/bus/foot/bike and not by train?

If so, you may be asked to purchase a platform ticket, these are typically around 20p. Failing that, a CDR to Westerfield is £2.50

I am planning to visit by car and then spend some time on the station taking photos/filming Certainly wouldn't mind purchasing a platform ticket if asked

This was exactly how it went The staff were very friendly and even told me that a class 379 that was about to pass through on test

Greater Anglia staff are really friendly at Ipswich so just ask and they should let you through, i went to Ipswich last year with a few friends and the staff member on the barriers let us through.
