Grimsby and Cleethorpes rail stations will be improved as part of a multi-million pound scheme.
The nationwide project will improve facilities and accessibility for disabled people at 161 stations - with able-bodied users also reaping the benefits.
The improvements for Grimsby Town station include an enlarged waiting room integrated with the booking hall.
New flooring, colour scheme and lighting are also included and a new ticket window will be built.
Cleethorpes passengers can also look forward to an improved waiting area, with non-slip floor, new lighting, and extra seating.
The station's customer service area will also be redesigned to allow for greater customer flow and the ticket window will be improved.
The scheme falls under the Department of Transport's Access for All Small Schemes funding.
Access for All is a £370-million fund in use until 2015, aimed at improving stations for disabled customers.
The Small Schemes funding is drawn from this and aims to enhance disabled parking, flooring and lighting.
Rail Minister, Tom Harris, said the scheme showed the Government's determination to improve facilities and access to the railway.
He said £6-million had been allocated for the Small Schemes by the government, and through partnerships with companies elsewhere in the industry, that had increased to £21.5-million.
He said: "Train operators and local authorities have come to us with plans to make their stations more accessible for disabled passengers.
"And we're helping them to fund improvements such as lifts, ramps, automatic doors, and passenger information systems.
"These may seem like small changes, but they can make a big difference."
