Left Wigan at 4.20pm to tick off Clay Cross - Ambergate Junction and Belper - Derby with a return from Chesterfield to Derby. I also wanted to have a ride on the newly built A555 connecting the M56 to Manchester Airport, Wilmslow, the A34, Poynton, A523 and A6 into the Peak District.
The A555 is new and allows for a 21 minute journey avoiding Stockport going at 50mph. 45 minutes later I park up at Chesterfield for £1 and await the 1807 XC Plymouth service which is on time. Ticket was checked on board. I disembark at Derby, move to platform 5 and leave at 1828 back to Chesterfield. I zoom back out and up into the Peak District and enjoy several fireworks descending back into Manchester and witness an Easyjet go right over me at the runway over the A555. I get home for 8pm.
