A while ago, I posted my first try at creating a future tube map, with all the planned extensions and new lines, as well as some of my own ideas. I decided to try make a new one, this time only sticking to what I thought were the most useful developments, and also trying to make everything look less ‘busy’ as the first. Here is my finished second design.

There is some good ideas there however some of them like the Piccadilly line between Ealing Broadway and Greenford would be near impossible due to the short platforms on the branch as well as its heavy freight usage of the branch.

Good luck with resurrecting the Northern Heights plan.

It's been done to death on here than you can't extend the Northern City Line south of Moorgate because there are other things in the way. Also the original Northern Heights went north from Edgware and basically shadowed the A41 (and now M1). Going via Stanmore would be a huge dog-leg and there is no available corridor between Edgware and Stanmore unless you fancy demolishing alot of very expensive housing.

Also - why would you extend the Victoria line to Hainault ? That makes precisely no sense. Stratford or Barking would be far more logical traffic destinations.

And I'm not sure how you're going to run the Piccadilly line through Ealing Broadway and onto West Ealing to take over the Greenford branch without a huge amount of demolition.

Lastly the Central Line from Woodford to Broxbourne ? Broxbourne's well outside TFL's area and the route you'd have to use goes straight through Epping Forest, the Gunpowder Park country park and Lea Valley country park - which means it doesn't serve places people live.

I just noticed a mistake - the key still shows the Liberty line despite it having been changed to Elizabeth line…

Victoria Line to Woodford or Leytonstone would be a good idea though. I wonder if it should have taken over the GOBLIN line when it was built.

No, too much freight goes that way to share it with a frequent service.

You could extend it however it would require a complete Rebuilding of Moorgate Northern City Line station as well a fair about of realignment between Moorgate and Old Street which might also need modification.

It would be quite a "rebuild" - more a total demolition and start again, along with a huge amount of disruption for all the lines which run through the station.

To give you some idea - when it was previously suggested that the Northern City be linked to the Waterloo and City @Bald Rick pointed out the following:

5) extend GN services to Waterloo. Immediately beyond the Northern City Line tunnels is the Elizabeth line ticket hall. The Bank of England vaults a couple of hundred or so metres further on. The W&C tunnel are too small. Cost? (also, for mods, can we consider a similar policy to London Reconnections and immediately delete any comments suggesting linking the NCL tunnels to the Waterloo and City.
