Let's go back into the 90s where we had Mainline, Yorkshire Terrier and lots of weird bus operators. This was a peak time for Sheffield's buses. Does anybody know any of the old Sheffield bus routes and where they went to?

It might be worth you looking up the South Yorkshire Transport Forum - they have a history section which already discusses some old routes and I'm sure members on there will have the specific info you are looking for.

Only thing I'd say is be prepared for some abrupt and at times rude comments. Most on there are helpful, some have issues.

May I point you towards the Sheffield Ominbus Enthusiasts' Society, website here.

Amongst other things on there, and free for all to view, is a copy of their Monthly newsletter from January 2007 - which includes snippets of news from the newsletters published in January 1997, 1987 and 1977.

It’s a slightly different address to the one linked above.

The X33 to Bradford was withdrawn in 2007 I believe. When did it start?

I remember a much slower 66 between the two cities in the 1960s.

I think the X33 used newly open sections of the M1.

IIRC it began in 1968. Then there was the X32 to Leeds, by the late 90s operated by Yorkshire Traction's ex-Lincoln Volvo B10M double deckers which always felt very skittish to me, quite tall but with small wheels.
The only routes I recall travelling on within Sheffield in the 90s are the 69 (Rotherham) up Attercliffe Road, the 130 (Rotherham via Three Magpies) and the 53 to visit Rails model shop.
