June 20th i was at Crewe and i saw something at a red light in the distance, it was waiting until express trains came passed, it began to move and soon revealled it was an Wrexham and Shropshire Class 67! 67015! it came down the West Coast Mainline from the Warrington Direction, it stopped at Crewe and headed back out along the Chester line, does anyone have an ideas why it was at Crewe

Just because its in WSMR livery doesnt mean it HAS to work WSMR trains, no idea why it was LE though, not sure when the 3 peaks challenge it but it could have been moved for this tour

If it is going down the Chester line then it is heading towards Crewe IEMD which is the home depot for the 67 fleet, so more than likely it is in the Crewe area for maintenance.

I don't think the WSMR 67 contract is like the VT 90 one where any one can turn up. I think they have leased those specific locos, so they wouldn't turn up on EWS duties, just WSMR. It isn't like the scotrail liveried 90s

to further my post, 67014 quoted for the 3 Peaks Challenge, 87002 Euston-Crewe, 67014 forward, so it isnt working LE to go to that

But WSMR are supplying some drivers for that, so technically it could still be classed as a WSMR service :p

WSMR locos have got to Holyhead on the (since deceased) Aluminium run at least once, and I think one also ended up working a railtour to Scotland.

Ta for the gen, does this mean WSMR will have one of the other 67s on hand? if the other 3 are out on trains dont they need an space skip incase one fails? be nice to get 018 on a service train as I missed it last time round, or atleast get a higher chance to ride my pet skip 67010

It's still on passenger workings today, but barring any accidents the charter is still planned to be 014.

WSMR locos are frequently at Crewe ETD for maintenance, if it came into Crewe then went up the Chester line it was either destined for the ETD or Wrexham. I think 67012 is on the 3 peaks,
