At the South Devon Railway today, I noticed 47309 in the old Freightliner livery.

It wasn't in use when I was there, and it wasn't listed on the programme, so I doubt it was used at all. I saw it being turned on and that was it.

Throughout the SDR website there is no information about it, and it's not even listed on the stock page. The stock page includes rolling stock, and trains being leased, but not 303.

A quick Google found nothing, somebody's bound to have some info.

So far I know it's at Totnes and it is/was working for Freightliner.

Thanks,
Hakzi.

It is 47309, a Cotswold Rail owned locomotive, and it did I believe the 1903 Beer-ex from Totnes today.
This weekend os a "practise run" apparently, if the loco performs it will be returned to mainline standard, if it doesn't it will be possibly scrapped.

Wow. That's a difference. Who would it return to mainline service for? Cotswold Rail? And how long has it been in the hands of CR?

It has been in the hands of CR for about 6 months, though it hadn't moved until yesterday ready for this weekend's event. And I'm guessing if anyone was going to return it to mainline service, it'd be for Cotswold/Advenza

It is apparentally down for a repaint, however on it's first run it did, it expired!

Thanks Matt :)

It moved earlier on today. It had a nameplate "Advenza Freight" on it. I think it went with the Advenza 47. I beleive it's now stabled in Gloucester?

Never scrap a 47! <(

I don't really understand why people go straight to scrapping when there is quite likely to be a market for it?

Would have been nice to be able to get 47309 in the book, but at least I saw it getting started.

Useless piece of junk as it stands though!

Agreed re: 47375 there, I was grossly disappointed. First nb 47 I'd had and it got me wondering why anyone rated them at all. Still, it's the 12th Duff in the book, never have to do it again.
