222103 has left Crewe works, seen here, with one of the cars in East Midlands livery here.

Bout time, it's only been 2 or 3 years?

and another pic here

I like that pic the best. Looks very strange. It looks like they built a new body and stuck the old cab on the end.

222103 was damaged in January 2007 so it has been about 2 1/2 years. It will be nice to see it out and about again with EMT.

Agreed. 'Bout time it was fixed. Has the interior of 103 been altered or is it still Pioneer? :)

I'd imagine it hasn't been altered, like the rest of the Pioneers from HT now with EMT.

Yes I imagine the interior has been put back as it was before the accident happened.

222103 had only actually been in service for about 1 year before the accident happened so the interior should be hardly worn.

Sorry for being nosey guys, but what happened to it?
This is only from what I remember hearing at the time. It was jacked up for whatever planned maintenance, and somehow it hadn't been food correctly, this led to at least one vehicle falling from the jack and a lot of damage. I can't recall if the Health and Safety Executive got involved or dealt out punishment, but you shouldn't really have 40odd tonne vehicles falling about in a workplace.

i believe 50029 was dropped in a similar accident with the army a few years ago...

Wasn't that 026? Although I'm not quite sure, I thought I read in the railway magazine that it was 026?
Sorry if I'm wrong... :(

Cheers for that Mark :)

No problem. Even though the 1C17 0647 Sheffield – London St Pancras (9-car formation) didn't have a Pioneer this morning and instead I saw one on the 16:18 Derby - London service so they can sometimes vary but they are official diagrams.

What a waste of these four units. Two diagrams and one of them sits half the day on Cricklewood!

Look at the trouble Hull Trains are going through after loosing them too. When the Derby service is extended to Sheffield I think they will be ultilised more.
