1Y26 Oban to Glasgow Queen Street is stranded 1 mile outside of Fort William after hitting a tree. The unit has no air due to collision damage, no way to isolate the leak, and no way to be rescued from that end due to coupler damage.

1B01 (Caledonian Sleeper) stuck behind.

Unbelievably there are no updates (now several hours after it happened) on the Caledonian Sleeper site so let’s hope there’s no poor customers stuck at rural WHL stations!

That is making very little sense. 1Y26 is an Oban to Glasgow service, why would it be stuck outside Fort William?

Looking at RTT, the issue appears to have been in the Helensburgh/Craigendoran Jct area, and 1Y26 arrived at destination 130 late.

Judging by RTT, 1Y26 got stuck between Helensburgh Upper and Craigendoran Junction for something over 2 hours, but was moving again by 2055 (https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:L91225/2024-12-22/detailed). The following southbound trains were also delayed: 1Y48 (1601 Mallaig - Glasgow Queen Street) by around 90 minutes, and 1B01 (1900 Fort William - Edinburgh sleeper portion) by about 40 minutes. The worst delay seems to be to northbound 1Y27 (1821 Glasgow Queen Street - Oban / Mallaig), last reported as 3 hours late at Crianlarich.

1Y26 hit a tree just after Helensburgh and required fitters attention as a norgen valve had been ripped off so was unable to hold air. 1Y27 was held at Craigendoran until it could access the single line then hit another tree near Arrochar and had to wait for pway to remove it. The sleeper is only about 40 late and has plenty of time at Edinburgh on a Sunday so shouldn't much delayed heading south.
